Make your music stand out from the pack!
In today's highly competitive music industry, your recordings have to be punchy, powerful, and loud to get noticed. Whether you're trying to get radio play, a record deal, or place your song in a film soundtrack, or television series, your first impression is everything.
Give your music the warmth of vintage analog recording, the crispness of modern digital recording, and the flexibility of state-of-the-art digital editing!
I'll record your music through Neve pre-amps, Apogee Analog-to-Digital
converters, and ProTools software to give your recordings the competitive
edge that you need to put your music ahead of the rest!
Here's more detail on the gear:
The Neve 1073
A Classic Mic Pre-Amp
A great recording starts with a vintage analog pre-amp. I record through
a pair of vintage (circa 1974) Neve 1073 pre-amps.
Built in the early 1970's, the Neve 1073 mic/line pre-amps were used in Neve consoles such as the 8048.
Neve pre-amps frequently appear in the credits of many of the top selling CDs, including Nelly, No Doubt, and Madonna.

The Apogee AD-8000 Analog-to-Digital converter
Premium Quality Analog-to-Digital Converters
Thereīs no more important link in the digital recording chain than the A/D converter that takes your original analog input signal and converts it into digital information. The higher the quality of the A/D converter, the better the sound. Itīs as simple as that. The Apogee AD-8000 takes digital conversion to a whole new level.
Apogee AD-8000s are found on many of today's hit records, including those produced by Mark Dauer (T-Bone Burnett, Pete Yorn, and the American Pie soundtrack), Rafa Sardina (Macy Gray, Mariah Carey, and Dru Hill), and Musician/Producer/Engineer Don Was (the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, and Bonnie Raitt).
Don Was said, "Thereīs one piece of gear I love. Itīs called the Apogee AD-8000. When you use the Soft Limit feature on there, it really gives a nice simulation of tape compression. Itīs not a simulation, really. It simulates the emotional quality of tape compression." {Performing Songwriter magazine (Nov 2001, p46), interviewed by Bill DeMain},

was raving about!
Pro-Tools Digital Editing Software
Experience the Power of Digital Editing!
Save time and money by using the power of ProTools digital audio software!
An established industry standard, ProTools lets you quickly edit your performances, rearrange songs, and fix wrong notes, for a start.
I use ProTools to easily assemble a master performance without having
to do endless takes!
ProTools also contains powerful tools like Beat Detective, AutoTune and Sound Replacer, which allow you to improve or perfect performances and (confidently) compete with what's out there on the airwaves!
Align drums using Beat Detective
Add snap and oomph to live drum performance. Beat Detective quickly
lines up the rhythmic elements to give the drums that extra punch
and eliminate "pocket" issues.
I use Beat Detective in ProTools to quickly analyze each hit on a
drum track, separate it, and then align it to the grid.
Pro musicians know that overdubs are much faster and easier if you're working with drums that have been processed through Beat Detective . . . meaning you'll save both time and money in the studio.
Fix out-of-tune vocals using AutoTune
AutoTune has been hailed as a "holy grail of recording" by Recording Magazine and is used by thousands of audio professionals around the world to reduce studio and editing time by easing the frustration of endless retakes!
Use Sound Replacer to Change a Drum Track
I use Sound Replacer to replace or mix an audio event with new samples
from an extensive sound library. Imagine being able to swap out kick
drums, snare drums, and toms without having to retrack.
Sound Replacer allows you to retain the feel of the original performance
by automatically adjusting the dynamics of the replacement sound to
match the changing levels within the performance.
